Eco-sustainability, safety and design: this is Jim, the new leg for waiting area benches

Alba, the Metalmeccanica Alba brand dedicated to the production and sale of chair components and furniture, recently presented Jim: the new leg designed specifically for waiting area benches.

Jim has been designed especially for the Nexus, Feel and Square models, but is compatible with all Alba waiting area benches with 80x40 mm beams.

It can also be adapted to all benches with standard beams of size 80x40mm, thus guaranteeing maximum versatility of use in the furniture market.

Jim is made of recycled and recyclable plastic, in keeping with our commitment to sustainability, and our long-term goal of contributing to creating a healthy and virtuous environment for everyone. We strive to attain this by both producing components for chairs, design components for furnishings, frames for seats intended for community use and structures for tables with recycled and recyclable materials, as well as through optimizing our own production processes.
At Alba, we are able to create a guaranteed 60% of our energy requirements ourselves using our own photovoltaic system. What’s more, we undertake to limit the use of water in our production processes as well as production waste. And to reduce emissions, we use exclusively LED lights to illuminate our warehouse and production departments. Finally, we use exclusively recyclable packaging.

Jim therefore stands as a testament to our desire to maintain our commitment to sustainability, as declared by Dario Ferronato, from Alba' R&D Department:

"Designing and developing Jim has given us the opportunity to restate the great attention that Alba pays to eco-sustainable production. Indeed, the new waiting area bench leg meets the requirements for CAM Minimal Environmental Criteria (CAM) certification".
He adds: "With Jim, not only is environmental safety guaranteed, but it also provides a guarantee of durability and resistance, thanks to the plastic materials employed in its construction. The materials are certified CATAS (furniture testing Institute) to EN16139 second level, and offer value for money which is unmatched by other products within this market segment."

Thus, the new leg Jim offers eco-sustainability, safety and design: its refined and captivating aesthetics lend a touch of style to waiting rooms. In fact, Jim boasts clean lines, with no visible screws, guaranteeing a product with a reduced number of components which is quick and easy to assemble.

Franco Ceccato, owner and founder of the brand, together with Daniele Gasparotto, states:
"From the beginning of the development process of the Jim bench leg, I recognised the strengths of the product: lightweight and at the same time extremely robust, thanks to the quality of the plastic material used in its construction.
On top of its contemporary and appealing design, Jim’s clean lines provide a number of very practical advantages. One significant benefit is that it’s easy to clean. This is a very desirable feature in the period we’re currently experiencing, and one which is especially relevant for products designed specifically to be used in communal spaces such as waiting rooms.
It immediately became clear to me how Jim could enrich and enhance the Alba product range, and especially so when teamed with the Nexus, Feel and Square seat shells, creating a particularly harmonious setup".

Jim is available in the black finish and, with a minimum lot, also in the grey finish.
